The channel you wish to join is #TheDeadSociety. To join type "/join #thedeadsociety" without quotes. The leading / (forward slash) is required as it proceeds all commands.
The chat is based in IRC, if you don't know what that is and would like more information you can read the Wiki or the RFC specification.
If the above chat doesn't connect or is too slow, you can try other servers in the irc network (clicking link changes the server the web client connects to, picking a server closer to you may improve your connection rate):

You must have JAVA (programing implementation from Sun Microsystems) installed and enabled for the web client above to work, which you can get from java.sun.com.
Firefox has this disabled by default. To enable it go under tools/options click the content tab and click the tick box labled "enable Java".
If you are worried about the security of enabling Java either shut it off when you're done or get NoScript which will disable it except for sites you authorize as safe.
